What is Verblio?
Verblio is a company that pays you weekly to write from home. It was previously named “BlogMutt” when it was first launched back in 2010.
It was only a team of 2 at that time and the founder, Wade being one of them. The company started to hire more writers one year later and it continues to grow until today.
The company was renamed to Verblio in 2015. Not sure what’s the reason to change the name.
Now let’s see how much can you make as a writer in Verblio.
How Does Verblio Work?
In order to join Verblio as a writer, you need to apply on their website. After signing up on the platform, you need to take several tests which examine your English efficiency.
You will be tested in grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure. Verblio also makes sure their writer doesn’t plagiarise.
They take plagiarism very seriously. No rewording or paraphrasing is allowed in Verblio. If you get caught doing these things, you will be let go.
As a writer, you will earn $10.50 per post provided if your post is accepted by the editors and somebody buys your post.
These are the 2 biggest keys in making money here. First, you will most likely need to revise your post many times before it got accepted by the editors.
Don’t be surprised if you do not receive constructive feedback, those editors review too many blogs in a day. They won’t have time to leave you a 100% personalized feedback.
Second, someone needs to buy your post. It is just how the entire business work, sadly there’s no way around it.
What Do I Like About Verblio?
1. Work from home
The best thing about being a writer in Verblio is that you can work anywhere you want.
Imagine you don’t have to wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning and stuck in traffic for more than 30 minutes.
You also don’t have to due with the office drama and totally avoid the social issue.
2. Flexible hours
You can also work whenever you want. However, sometimes you need to be quick otherwise somebody else will snatch your client.
What Don’t I Like About Verblio?
1. Not Guaranteed Pay
As mentioned earlier, even if your work was accepted, you will still need a buyer to buy it.
2. Intense Competition
There is no regional restriction of who can work for Verblio. So you are facing competition from the entire world basically.
Also, you can submit multiple versions of post for one client. So the client will pick his/her favorite.
Then, there are writers who are willing to write many quality posts to maximize their chances of getting bought even if they need to drop the quality.
3. Not Passive Income
Writing is a great tool to make money online. It can secure a job for you and better create a business for you.
Sadly, most people use it to work for somebody else. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely fine to write for other people. If freelancing is your only job, you must keep doing it to survive.
But if you have extra time, I recommend you build another stream of income, more specifically passive income.
Is Verblio A Scam?
Verblio is certainly not a scam but a legitimate company with a high quality of work. Being a writer, you need to revise your work many times before it got published.
The company is strict about keeping the standard high and that’s why it can sustain for years.
However, it is not 100% fair to the writers because often times you will be free labor. Although they are up front about this, it is still a bad time investment.
There are better alternatives out there which pay you better. In my opinion, it is far more profitable to have your own writing business.
For example, I have created this website that’s able to generate me some decent side income passively. This is due to the power of affiliate marketing.

Have you thought of creating side hustles that will become your passive income sometime in the future?
This is the No.1 Recommended method that requires no start-up fee but it requires a good amount of time and effort for building the business up.
