What is Respondent?

Respondent is a website that connects you with company that is looking for people to test products or conduct experiments.

Respondent makes money by collecting money from you and the requesting company. From the user side, it is a 5% reduction from how much you make in that event.

It is very similar to many freelancing platforms where it gets money from the freelancer and the requesting party.

The official website was created on April 2018. Although it is relatively new, there are people already tested it out and proved that they indeed payout.

How Does Respondent Work?

After signing up for an account with Respondent, you will see a list of research opportunities that you can apply to.

Each item will tell you how much you will make with it and how long is it going to take.

It works very much like a freelancing platform where you need to apply for a job and you will be evaluated to see if you are a right fit for the open cart.

After applying, the system will tell you how qualify you are regarding the specific research opportunity.

There are many research opportunities are conducted in the form of focus group.

For those who are not familiar with focus group, basically you need to go through an activity/experiment with other people to test certain products or to provide your opinion on certain topics.

Some research opportunities require you to meet in person with the staff. So, you need to travel for some cases.

How to Join Respondent?

Joining Respondent is as easy as going to their website and put in your personal information like name, email, gender and residency.

After filling up your information, you will be given a questionnaire to let the system further understand your background.

So that it can provide you research opportunities that are more relevant to you.

This is important because after you apply for a research opportunity, you will be assessed to check if you are who the company is looking for.

Having a relevant opportunity presented to you avoid wasting your time to apply to non-relevant jobs.

What Do I like about Respondent?

1. Connect you with More Opportunity

Instead of spending a lot of on Google trying to look for yourself. Respondent save your time and prevent you from falling into scams.

2. Don’t have to Worry About Scam

Part of the reason why Respondent is important is because it acts as a middleman between you and survey companies.

So you don’t have to worry about the company not paying after you have done the work.

3. Matching System

It has a system that matches you with a company that will most likely accept as their product tester.

This will let you make money quicker and don’t have to waste time on company that won’t accept you.

What Don’t I like about Respondent?

1. No Alert System

A big issue with Respondent is that it doesn’t notify you when a research opportunity is available.

So you have to keep your eye on the dashboard to check constantly if there is any new opportunity coming out.

This is very frustrating especially for someone who can’t look up their phone all the time.

2. Trading Time For Money

When working online, I generally prefer to find a way that builds passive income. Because that’s the whole point of making money online.

You need to create a system that will work for you. Otherwise it is just the same as working at a 9-5 job.

I suggest you to check how my blog is generating income passively for me. I explain in detail how I use my blog and affiliate marketing to make me money while I am sleeping. Please check the bottom of this page to find out.

3. Need to Commute

Some of the research opportunities require you to meet with the staff in person. So you need to commute to a specified location and do the experiment in order to get pay.

Who Is Respondent For?

It is for those who are willing to trade time for money by doing experiments or surveys for different companies.

As I have described above, there are many research opportunities in Respondent. Thus, you will need to apply to and ultimately interact with different companies that organize these experiments.

Respondent is just a middleman between you and those survey companies. It makes profit off you and the company. 5% from the user side but not sure how much from the company side.

Is Respondent A Scam?

Respondent is not a scam but a legitimate company that provides research opportunity for you to make money.

It can be hard to get selected for different opportunities. Therefore, I recommend you apply as many as you can to increase the chances of being selected.

Let’s say you are 80% qualified, you still can be selected if there is nobody more qualified than you.

They payout through PayPal and it can take some time (a month) to get into your bank. Please keep that in mind for those who are looking for quick money.

The only downsides of Respondent are really those 2 I have just mentioned. Difficult to get selected and slow pay out time.

Other than that, it is a pretty good survey company.

Hopefully, this review helps you gain a little more insight on how you can make money with Respondent.

  1. I’m not at all impressed with them. I signed up with them earlier this month; and I had to receive two text messages from them just to open up an account, because they didn’t explain that my e-mail account used with them has to be identical to the one that I use with PayPal. They don’t explain how all of that works beforehand. After I opened a participant account with them, I was unable to enter updates in my background information in my account without getting unexplained red alerts that there were errors. Now I cannot even get into my account, because I’m getting a message that my account is deactivated despite that they never contacted me to tell me that it was going to be deactivated. I’ve only been a participant with them for a week, and I am not at all impressed with them. I’ve taken three surveys with them so far, and I have not made one red cent with them. I don’t think they’re going to last. If they do, they deserve to be shut down by the Federal Trade Commission.

    1. Thank you for the input! This will greatly help our readers to be aware of what’s going on with Respondent.
