What is Livingston Research?
Livingston Research is a company that provides personalized support to students who face difficulty in their homework.
The company was founded on May 10, 2009 in the U.K. Unfortunately, there’s no information about who is the founder.
I checked the company’s identity through Facebook and found out that there are 35k followers on Facebook.
Besides, their official website was indeed created in 2010 which is quite close to when they claimed to launch according to WHOIS.
Now let’s how does the company survive for so long and how to make money with it as a writer.
How to Make Money with Livingston Research?
In order to become a writer for Livingston Research, you need to apply on their website.
After submitting the application, you need to pass a test to get the job.
You need to write a 400 word essay for a subject that you are interested in.
They will let you choose an academic subject and then they provide a topic for you to write.
After completing the essay, you will wait for around 1 to 2 weeks to receive the result.
They will first reach you through a phone call. If you don’t answer the call, they will email you as a final attempt to reach you.
After becoming a writer, you will have a supervisor and a team leader that you can contact for questions or emergency like extending a deadline.
Within the writer’s area, there is a marketplace which is basically like Fiverr where writer bid on a project and the client can accept your rate.
Livingston Research is very strict about the rules that they set for their fellow writers.
If you don’t abide to the following rule, you will find yourself in a deep trouble. People got laid off because of not following these rules.
- No plagiarism
- Following client’s requirements
- Correct format
- Appropriate language, phrasing, and content
- Scholarly sources
Livingston Research Pay
When you first start off, you won’t see project that pays above $25 because that’s how the system set up.
You need to gain more positive reviews and done more projects to earn trust. Most of the projects will go through older writer who has more positive reviews.
So as a beginner, you need sacrifice by lowering your rate and bid on as many projects as possible even though you are interested in those topics.
This way, you increase your success rate and slowly work your way up. Once you have accumulated enough reviews, you can then choose a project that you like to work on.
Livingston Research claims that you can earn $3.50 to $10 per page but realistically most projects only pay you $3 per page.
The potential income depends on the writer’s researching and writing efficiency.
According to the company report, a writer can make $800+ per month but on average I have only seen $400-$500 per month on most reviews.
The busy months are usually around March to May and October to December. The rest of the seasons can have a shortage of available projects.
So it is really a part time job that’s supposed to supplement your income.
They pay twice a month through PayPal, Payoneer and Skrill. You will expect to see the money in your account within 10 days after withdrawal.
What Do I Like About Livingston Research?
1. Decent Pay
I mean if you look at the monthly income of $400 as a side income is pretty decent. But if you drill down into $3 per page, that’s pretty harsh.
Most people seem pretty satisfied with the pay. In the end, you get to hone your writing skills while earning money. That’s not so bad after all.
2. Flexible Hours
LR lets you work from home and basically you can work whenever you want as long you make it before the deadline.
That’s a big plus to avoid the morning and evening commute. You get to save time and make money by bidding on more projects.
What Don’t I Like About Livingston Research?
1. Unreasonable Fine
Most of the complaints are about the company’s penalty policy.
A lot of people got fined because of low quality work, not complying with client’s request or violating other policies.
The fine is 100% deduction on your pay.
2. Company doesn’t back you
In the case of unreasonable request from the client, the company will always be with the client.
Even though you are asked to revise your work multiple times. Don’t expect an extra pay for the revisions.
3. Trading Time for Money
Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely fine to write for others. But I recommend to use the time to build your own blog.
This way you don’t rely on others. You are truly your own boss. Once your blog gain enough traffic, you can make money multiple ways. Check here for how to make money blogging.
Is Livingston Research A Scam?
Overall, Livingston Research is not a scam but a legitimate company that pays writers to write academic projects.
It is very similar to many major freelancing platforms. You need to build up your profile to get more clients.
If you are willing to put in the time and effort, I suggest you to create your own website so that you can do affiliate marketing on it.
It can earn you way more than freelancing. More importantly, it is a passive income.
For example, I promote items here on my blog and it earns me an affiliate commission whenever somebody buys via my affiliate link.
This way I get to earn money 24/7, even when I am asleep. If you are interested in more details, please check below where I share my online venture in details. Thank you.
